Small Business Investment Companies Articles Archive
A Summary Guide to Early Stage Small Business Investment CompaniesThis document is a ten page monograph that describes a brand new program announced by the U. S. Small Business Administration on December 9, 2011. In a nutshell, the SBA is prepared to grant a license to a private equity fund which proposes to invest at least 50% of its money in “early stage” (not yet cashflow-positive) companies and is prepared to advance very low interest government-guaranteed loans to such a licensee in an amount equal to the licensee’s private capital. So this would be a way for a private equity fund to double the amount of money available for its investments. As noted this program is brand new, so the attached monograph is, we believe, the only easily read information available about this new program.
